Glastonbury is a unique and vibrant town with particular historical attraction. The list of things to see and do is endless and the area is a popular destination for global pilgrims and travellers. There is of course the iconic Tor and the legendary 7th century Abbey, the inspiringWhite Spring , the ancient and holy Chalice Well, as well as many historical buildings such as theTribunal building and St Margaret's Chapel. The town itself is entertaining enough, with lots of interesting and quirky shops and a generous selection of amazing places to dine out. A good starting point is to visit the Glastonbury Information Centre (Magdalene St, next to the Abbey entrance) and check out 'The Oracle' for events, conferences, talks and therapies all on offer year round.

All around Glastonbury, in every direction can be found amazing landscapes, from the rocky cliffs at Cheddar Gorge, to the rolling Mendip Hills and forest woodlands, to the flat wetlands of the Somerset levels and the nature rich Avalon Marshes. If you want to enjoy more local walks, there is the excellent Glastonbury Way, an 8 mile tour taking in key locations and places of pilgrimage around the town and outskirts, or the Glastonbury Mural Trail, taking in over 50 pieces of art that adorn walls in and around the town.

Find out more about Glastonburyhere- you can even watch the market cross at the bottom of town via the live webcam. (And maybe during your visitarrange a time to wave at family and friends via the camera!)

30 mins walk or a 5 minute drive/bus journey away is the village ofStreet, home of the Clarks shoe factory and museum, plus the excellent Clarks Village Shopping centre. Between Easter and the end of August, Greenbank outdoorheated swimming pool is open to the public and well worth a visit.

6 miles in the opposite direction is the medieval Cathedral city of Wells, boasting a variety of shops, 13th Century Cathedral and cosmopolitan café culture.

There is good public transport to surrounding areas including Clark's Village in Street (2 miles), the Cathedral City of Wells (6 miles), Bath, Bristol, Taunton etc.

Also local tours are popular for exploring the area on foot with a guide. During the summer months you can hop on the "Tor Bus" which picks up outside the Abbey, and will drop you at the base of the northern side of Tor. Cycle hire is also available from The Glastonbury Information Centre.

The nearest train station is Castle Cary, approx 15 miles from Glastonbury town, though bus transport links are more frequent from Bristol Temple Meads train station.

There are a few steps leading up to the front door, which guests with reduced mobility may struggle with.

There is no allocated parking with the apartment, but there is lots of unrestricted street parking, and two long stay, low cost car parks very close by. Please do not park in the courtyard of the white cottagenext door- this is a privately owned driveway.

Please make your booking for the amount of guests who are staying and let me know for guests in the second bedroom, whether they prefer to share a bed or sleep separately.

A percentage of booking revenue will be donated towards combatting climate change.Namastay climate pledge
